About Me

I'm Jing.  I earned a Bachelor of Medicine in China before moving to Canada, where I continued to pursue my passion for helping people. I began by completing some psychology undergraduate courses from Athabasca University as well as certification in children's mental health from Humber College. From there, I went on to complete a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) degree at Yorkville University. I am currently a Registered Psychologist in Alberta and Canadian Certified Counsellor.

I also have training in EMDR, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy Level 1 and Level 2, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Integrating CBT and Mindfulness, Gottman Couple Therapy Level 1 and Level 2, Healing Trauma from Guided Drawing, Therapeutic Yoga, and Polyvagal Theory. I integrate Ancient philosophy into Western Counselling context to foster self-growth. My work experience includes depression, anxiety, trauma, parenting, anger management, grief and loss, life transition, and so forth. I have experience working with individuals from diverse cultural and ethnic groups. I believe that counselling is a great way for people to gain new insights into their past experiences and challenges that they have encountered.

In my free time, I volunteer at different organizations to support individuals who have experienced emotional stress and to deliver mental health presentations. I enjoy spending time with my husband, two kids, and my fur baby. I also like running, colour pencil drawing, acrylic painting, and Kintsugi pottery. I believe that art can be a great way for us to transform pain and suffering.
